Take the guesswork out of your electronics design equation

  • Are you struggling with design decisions?

  • Will the design live up to the requirements?

  • Did you do everything you could to make it as good as possible?

Electronic devices are integrated into many product designs. From household appliances, automobiles, and medical equipment to aircraft and mobile devices, electronic circuits are becoming very complex.
This of course has a huge impact on the design decisions. These circuits must work in conjunction with other electronic devices while keeping signal- and power integrity. There are also EMC-standards that must be met to be able to certify. By using CST Studio from Dassault you can, in a few steps, get in control.

A good start would be to simulate your design, right? In CST Studio, you have the possibility to import your PCB, whether it’s directly coming from your ECAD tool or if it’s in ODB++ format.

Once the PCB has been imported you have access to the information you need, a complete database of components, nets/net classes and the layer stackup. All at your fingertips.

No matter if it is a LVDS bus interface or a DDR3 memory interface, you can easily filter out the information you are interested of. Here you have the option to add IBIS models to your components, create stimulus at high frequencies and create your own pattern of data.

Is the result OK, or do you have to much overshoot in your signal?
The great advantage of simulation is that you don’t need a physical PCB. You can do this repeatedly, tweaking and improving until you are confident with the design, before ordering the physical PCB.
